What I'm all about...
I grew up in the burbs fourty-five minutes from the beautiful Vancouver core playing sports and running barefoot. I built forts in the woods with my best friend, made up secret languages, scraped my knees a lot and ate peanut butter & jelly sandwiches - with the crust. I was the kid that came home with mud on my face and twigs in my hair. I danced in the forests with ferries, explored with dragons and swam in the bathtub with mermaids. Call me silly, but I believed (and still believe) in magic.
All the years I spent secretly staying up at night - dreaming of being Indiana Jones - reading National Geographic magazines grabbed my soul. When grad ceremonies came I couldn't wait to explore the world. I was always taking pictures or having my
picture taken while growing up, naturally photojournalism became my passion.
As I reflect on my childhood and memories, I have books of photographs of all these moments and milestones in my life. It's important that you know these things about me because it's a part of who I am today and that plays a huge role in my work. I love the way a documented image, so honestly captured, can pull on your heart. So I want all walls taken down. I want my photographs to tell the intimate story of life.
Life is a journey and everyone has a story worth telling.
